About the CHS Library

The mission of our library is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information, and that students are empowered to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information and technology.
The CHS Library is here to assist students and staff with research, technology, homework, and leisure reading. 

Hours*:
  • Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 8:00 AM-3:35 PM
  • Tuesday/Thursday: 8:00 AM-2:00 PM 
*Hours vary on early release days and Not School As Usual days, and the library is closed during lunch the third Wednesday of each month.

Students and staff can borrow:
  • Books (actual real, printed, physical books!)--fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, poetry, biographies...
  • Audiobooks (Sora)
  • eBooks (Sora)
  • DVDs
  • AV equipment (for staff to check out for classroom use)​

Also available:
  • Online databases
  • Chromebooks, Chromebook chargers, headphones (with or without microphone)--for use in school only
  • Supplies, including colored pencils, markers, glue sticks, tape, paper (white, lined, graph), and scissors, to work on projects in the Library
  • Printer to print school materials and homework

Library Material Loan Periods*:
  • Books (print): 3 weeks
  • Sora eBooks & eAudio: 4 weeks
  • DVDs: 2 weeks
  • Chromebooks: 1 school day, for use in school only
  • Battery packs (to charge Chromebook): 1 block/class period
  • Headphones: 1 block/class period

Returns:
  • LIBRARY BOOKS go in the bin just inside library door.
  • EQUIPMENT can be left on the library circulation desk.
  • WHEN THE LIBRARY IS CLOSED, please return items to the Main Office.
  • BOOKS FOR CLASSES (borrowed from the Book Depository or Main Office) need to be returned to the Main Office.
